In my last blog, I mentioned that the major part of the government mass vaccination mandate narrative has been threefold ie., the vaccines are “safe”, “effective”, and that “vaccination is the only way out of the pandemic”.  I saw it on the news again today, alongside Moderna’s new advertisement about getting boosted, of course.  You may also remember my contention that any government in order to mandate a vaccine (or in this case an experimental prototype vaccine) for all its citizens MUST prove that ALL three aspects of this narrative are true.  I also noted that the government has never fully-acknowledged the power of naturally-acquired immunity in those who have had Covid-19 – as demonstrated by a positive PCR test and/or the presence of antibodies – even though there are over 130 studies demonstrating this fact.

There is some good news in the news.  Here are some excerpts from the National Post article dated February 9, 2022 called “The dominos begin to fall:  Most Canadian pandemic strictures should be gone by spring”:

“As the Omicron wave subsides, most Canadians now live in a province whose health authorities are actively questioning the utility of vaccine passports and other pandemic measures.”

“In dropping vaccine mandates, health authorities have been citing the fact that the measures no longer make sense in the face of the wildly infectious Omicron variant, which has proven to circulate among fully vaccinated people almost as well as among the unvaccinated…”

[In other words, you can get Omicron even if you have been vaccinated]

“The sheer transmissibility of Omicron has also left millions of Canadians with a post-infection natural immunity to the virus.  While scientists don’t yet know how long that natural immunity may last, or how effective it may be against re-infection, Canada also has a vaccination rate that is one of the highest in the world.”

[This is a very interesting statement from a mainstream newspaper.  They are finally stating the fact that has been very obvious to most of us over the last year i.e., having had Covid (in this case, Omicron) creates “a post-infection natural immunity to the virus”  It is also of note that they have included post-infection natural immunity in the same sentence as the high vaccination rate in Canada.  I read this they have realized that natural immunity and vaccine-induced immunity have similar outcomes in the real-world data. ]

For many of you, it may be prudent at this point to remind you of the main and distinct difference between vaccine-induced immunity and naturally-acquired immunity when it comes to Covid-19.  It really boils down to this.  In a vaccinated individual, you are immunized against the spike protein only.  In an individual who has had Covid, you are immunized against the whole virus.  Coronaviruses are masters of altering the spike protein to ensure their survival – so Omicron has drastically altered the spike protein in order to evade detection and binding by the body antibodies [a process called “vaccine escape”]

The good thing about having Omicron, for those of you who have contracted it, is that you now have produced antibodies against the whole virus.  Which also means that boosters (which only can produce antibodies against the original strain) will have very little effect, if any, on contracting Omicron.  Omicron, by nature, is a milder form of Covid-19, so there is really no need to be vaccinated or boosted to “prevent severe disease” either – in my opinion – because there is no severe disease to prevent.  This also means that two of the three major tenets of the narrative supporting mandates has now crumbled.  The vaccines are ineffective against Omicron and mass vaccination of all age groups is not the only way out of the pandemic.  There is no obvious reason to continue the mass vaccination campaign or the mandates introduced to drive it.
